Background
So big it’s like a tectonic plate with wheels, the Land Cruiser is an epically proportioned off-roader for those who believe biggest is best. Choose from a 3.0-litre four-cylinder or a 4.5-litre V8, both diesel-fuelled. For more information on the Toyota Land Cruiser, click on our further stories on the links below.
60sec road test
In a world where very few off-roaders can actually go off road, the Land Cruiser is one of the last bastions of go-anywhere mud-plugging ability. It all begins to fall apart back on tarmac, where the Land Cruiser feels about as wieldy as the aircraft carrier it resembles. A seven-seat option is available, and it comes packed with kit – as it should, top V8 versions are eye-wateringly expensive.
